This course provides guidance in designing, writing and increasing the impact of food security reports in different contexts.

The target audience of the e-learning course includes:

  • Mid-level managers, technical staff, field personnel who are involved in the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of food security information.
  • Planners, policy formulators and programme managers who are involved in monitoring progress in poverty reduction, and meeting food security goals and targets.

  • Understanding the user’s information needs
  • Purpose for communication
  • Reporting for results
  • Writing effective reports
  • Reporting formats for food security

The course consists of 4 lessons, ranging from approximately 35 to 75 minutes duration each:

  • Lesson 1 – Understanding the User's Information Needs
  • Lesson 2 – Reporting for Results
  • Lesson 3 – Writing Effective Reports
  • Lesson 4 – Reporting Formats for Food Security
