This course illustrates a wide range of tools and techniques that can be used to improve collaboration and knowledge sharing, and provides guidance on conducting collaborative food security assessments. It also provides various advocacy techniques required to influence different audiences.

The target audience of the e-learning course includes:

  • Mid-level managers, technical staff, field personnel who are involved in the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of food security information.
  • Planners, policy formulators and programme managers who are involved in monitoring progress in poverty reduction, and meeting food security goals and targets.

  • Collaboration tools and techniques for strengthening group work.
  • Advantages and disadvantages of conducting collaborative assessments.
  • Process for developing a collaborative work plan.
  • Advocacy processing strategy techniques used to influence different audience groups.

The course consists of 3 lessons, ranging from approximately 45 to 90 minutes duration each:

  • Lesson 1 – Techniques for improving collaborative work
  • Lesson 2 – Deciding on a collaborative assessment
  • Lesson 3 – Advocacy
